The Match

Tractor Football made its’ debut at the 2016 National Ploughing Championships in the Irish Midlands. Laois defeated Offaly 4-3 in the Midlands Derby with Marty M scoring a hat-trick. [1]1

About the Contest

The Event was the first of its’ kind in Ireland and was to promote awareness around Heart Failure in Ireland, which affects men in particular, and especially the male farming community. [2]2

About Tractor Football

Tractor Football is 3-a-side and among the rules are 1. No Reversing. 2. A Tractor is not allowed move in front of another Tractor. 3. The Attacking Tractor will always have ‘Right of Way’. [1]3

Western Pack Burro Ass-ociation Race Winners 2010-Present [Reference: 2-11]

Report

The Western Pack Burro Ass-ociation has been organising races up the Mountains of Colorado for 71 years, a tradition which began when mine workers, who carried their tools and equipment on the backs of donkeys (burros in Spanish), to help get there quicker and to bring a bit of light enjoyment to their work. [Reference: 12]

The runner runs alongside the donkeys all the way up the top of the mountain, taking just over an hour to reach the top. John Vincent has been the leading runner over the past ten years and Crazy Horse (under two runners: John Vincent and Andrew Knutson) has been the leading Donkey. [Reference: 2-11]
